Cost Estimator (Sales)


Job Description

The Cost Estimator will be responsible for analyzing data, interpreting customer requirements, and generating accurate cost estimates. This is to be done accurately and in a timely manor, with current existing products and services, along with researching potential new vendors and suppliers to ensure cost efficiency while maintaining EPP’s Quality Policy and procedures.

Specific Duties Include:

  1. Analyze customer requirements and develop accurate and timely cost estimates for existing products and services.
  2. Leverage knowledge of industry trends and costs to adjust estimates accordingly.
  3. Monitor cost and budget trends to ensure estimates remain accurate and up-to-date.
  4. Generate detailed reports on cost estimates and present findings to management.
  5. Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
  6. Maintain accurate records of cost estimates and ensure accuracy of data.
  7. Maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure availability of resources.
  8. Research potential new vendors and suppliers to ensure cost efficiency.

Required Skills:

  1. 3+ years of experience in cost estimating or a related field.
  2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  5. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Filemaker (preferred).
  7. Experience in tooling and precision thermoplastic parts


Reports To: Business Development Manager
Work Environment: Office / Desk
Physical Requirements: Minimal Lifting
Educational Requirement: 3+ years minimum experience in injection molding environment
