Quality Layout Tech


Summary

The Layout Technician’s role primary responsibility is to dimensionally and visually inspect parts that have not been production approved or to be re-qualified.

Essential Functions:
- Perform First Piece Part Layout Qualifications of plastic parts.
- Visual evaluation of parts.
- Perform capability studies and Gage R&R.
- Perform Gage Calibration.
- Measurement of molds to correlate part measurements.
- Fully understand quality standards, procedures, and customer requirements.
- Backup and support floor inspection as needed.
- Personnel Training as requested.
- Support the Quality Assurance Manager / Quality Engineer as directed.
- Willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Understanding of basic mathematics.
- Proficient in Blueprint Reading and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance).
- Experienced in use of various measurement equipment (CMM, Vision System, etc.).
- Proficient in MS Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Programming of the CMM and Vision Systems.


Reports To:
Engineering Manager
Work Environment: Engineering Office
Physical Requirements: Minimal lifting, normally less than 25 lbs.
Educational Requirement: High School diploma. Completion of skilled trades applicable to plastics industry, associate degree preferred or equivalent 10 years minimum.
