Quality Layout Technician
Job Description
The Layout Technician’s role primary responsibility is to dimensionally and visually inspect parts that have not been production approved or to be re-qualified.
Specific Duties Include:
• Perform First Piece Part Layout Qualifications of plastic parts.
• Visual evaluation of parts.
• Perform capability studies and Gage R&R.
• Perform Gage Calibration.
• Measurement of molds to correlate part measurements.
• Fully understand quality standards, procedures, and customer requirements.
• Backup and support floor inspection as needed.
• Personnel Training as requested.
• Support the Quality Assurance Manager / Quality Engineer as directed.
• Willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Understanding of basic mathematics.
• Proficient in Blueprint Reading and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance).
• Experienced in use of various measurement equipment (CMM, Vision System, etc.).
• Proficient in MS Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Programing of the CMM and Vision Systems.
Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager
Work Environment: Quality Lab
Physical Requirements: Minimal Lifting, less than 25 pounds
Educational Requirement: High School Diploma
